What is the difference between Therapy and Coaching

I am trained and licensed to do Mental Health Counseling (therapy) in the state of New Mexico.

Therapy is a clinical way of addressing the challenges we face as part of the human experience by talking through those challenges and problem solving with a trained and licensed counselor. I hold a Masters degree in clinical counseling from the The University of New Mexico. I passed several exams and am required to adhere to a code of ethic created by the American Counseling Association and National Board of Certified Counselors. I have the background and knowledge to diagnose mental health disorders. I use evidenced based treatment models to work with clients such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Clinical Hypnotherapy. I help clients to build skills to manage their challenges empowering them improve their quality of life. I do focus on addressing these issues by helping you to set short term attainable goals, building a set of tools, and creating sustainable growth over time.

Coaching as a Codependency Specialist, I am helping clients learn tools to create healthy boundaries and focus on improving relationships. I work with clients educating them on what Codependency is, what boundaries are, and how best to communicate those boundaries. We work together to create a path having better connections with the people close to you to build healthy communication and understanding. The goal of coaching is to be short term and specific to Codependency, to address your goals around having healthy boundaries and positive communication.
